High School Days

When I was cleaning out my mom's things I ran across these painted rocks...

The CHS stands for the high school I went to so these must have been painted when I was attending Central High School in Grand Junction, Colorado...over 40 years ago...Wow!

I went there for 4 years...graduating in 1975...I still keep in touch with a few people I attended school with...a lot of them still live in Grand Junction...a beautiful town that will always be my hometown...I was born and raised there...lived there until I got married and moved when I was 19 or 20...

Humboldt Museums 8th Annual Holiday Fine Art Show and Sale

Our Local Rock Painting group was asked to be a part of the Humboldt Museums 8th Annual Fine Art Show and Sale...it took place on Saturday, December 16th, 2017...This was my contribution...

Painted rocks...including mine...were available for suggested donations to raise money for our group so we can continue community events...have the supplies needed and do fun stuff for drawings.

I was busy before Christmas painting presents for my chilren and grandchildren...I also painted snowflake ornaments for people I work with...no painted rocks for presents this year...the ornaments were on wooden circles...Welcome wooden signs for my kids and watercolor paintings for my grandkids...
Maybe next year they will all get rocks...

Special Requests

My first special request...Kokopelli...

I also painted her a Dale Earnhardt...Nascar rock...but I didn't remeber to take a picture of it...
This rock I gave to a special person that used to work at the school I work at...she has retired...but still volunteers and we see her often...

The Red bird was a special request from a Nurse Assistant at another elementary school in town...
the rest of these were placed in a Kindness box...for those that need a little uplifting...

Happy Halloween

I really had fun painting these rocks for Halloween...they were hid at the school I work at...I enjoyed watching the kids that found some of them...the ghost one I put down for a child that had been chatting with me about finding painted rocks around town..he loved it...

The frog one I almsot kept...as out school mascot is a frog...

The mummy and ghost were placed inside the school for the adults...I hope they enjoyed their finds...

Happy Halloween 2017...
Painted and given to a special local who goes all out for Halloween...her decorations get bigger and more elaborate every year...

Drop A Rainbow

Painted for Drop A Rainbow Day...October 3, 2017...
Since I had to work I hid all my rocks around the school I work at...
This one I left where I thought a friend would find it...as she loves dragonflies...

She told me she was flying to get out of her car and grab it befoer someone else did...

For some reason I had a difficult time coming up with ideas for rainbows...next year I hopefully I'll be better prepared...Pinterest?

Kindness Box

We have two Kindness Boxes in town for when you are needing a little inspiration or encouragement... or know someone else who is...

You can find a rock with a message in one of our Kindness boxes...they tend to be empty a lot...so it keeps us busy trying to keep them supplied...

I'm glad others find these rocks and want the messages the have and the good feelings they give them...

The rocks I have done are mostly what I call smalls...an inch or two across...
